I have got to fight the feeling that lets me down
3.
I am stranded I am hopeless waited so long to resign you always knew I would be the one who would one day leave them all behind I have seen the brightest days I have walked the darkest nights but what they told the world would be was nothing more than a misguide I have seen all my old fears turn themselves into desires I can’t get loose so would you help me now? help me to become now what I could never be I have seen the brightest days I have walked the darkest nights but what they told the world would be was nothing more than a misguide god has vanished from the seas and from the clouds in the sky I can’t get loose so would you help me now? so help me now
4.
All I know there's a need I couldn't take so missed the beat we're dancers on thin ice heedless and unwise All I know it's tearing me the fear to know who I might be if every thrill I can find is born and soonly dies I never said "it's what I needed" All the things I can't explain Can we work out our little time to mend all asymmetry together again? And work out this little time these uneven heartbeats uneven thoughts in mind? All I know it's chosen me and I refused all harmony when it seems to be settling down it starts to fall apart I never said "it's what I needed" All the things I can't explain Can we work out our little time to mend all asymmetry together again? And work out this little time these uneven heartbeats uneven thoughts in mind? Are we the same me and you? ... All I love deeply in my heart will disappear as it did before Hear the words within Are we the same me and you?

(from "Invisible Cities", novel by Italo Calvino)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This EP came from the urge to try something completely new and different from the music I used to listen and make. It took me longer than a year, studying and looking into a lot of various genres in electronic music, for these five songs to find a concrete form.

Last year's album, "ástarsaga", was an intense and an exhausting intimate emotional journey that took me more than I can ever retrieve. For everything it meant to me, I consider that my "ultimate pop album" and from the moment that album came out, It was clear to me I couldn't keep making the same kind of music anymore. There, the romantic-melancholic-pop style that drove all my releases was at its fullest state.

so this EP arose slowly since then, from diverse electronic experimentations and from the learning and sharing techniques and ideas with other independent musicians around the world. The usual melancholic guitar riffs and arpeggios that crafted my music on previous albums were then replaced by dance beats, glitchy rythms and heavy electro bass lines.

"Random Alarms" suggests something annoying, something we can't get rid of, like an inevitable bewildering feeling; or the loss of the sense of belonging after having been to too many different places in a short time. Just like the creative process these songs went through to be born, ideas and inspirations came from any place, any time, without a definite form or purpose, but always through life-changing experiences. You end up not knowing where you are or where you belong to anymore; you are only sure of where you are heading for.
